While OPPO has the A57 5G, realme announced a similar phone in China with the V23 5G. While it is like OPPO’s offering with a Dimensity 810 processor, 5000mAh battery, and a similar design, the V23 5G appears to be a better phone across the board.
realme V23 5G Specs
- Dimensity 810 processor
- 8GB/12GB RAM
- 256GB UFS 2.1 storage
- 6.58-inch Full HD+ IPS display
- 48-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel f/2.4 portrait lens
- 8-megapixel selfie camera
- 4G, 5G
- WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, side-mounted fingerprint scanner
- 5000mAh battery
- 33w charging
- Android 12, realme UI
To start things off, the V23 5G comes with double the storage at 256GB, and can be availed with up to 12GB RAM–a rarity for any mid-range phone. The display does drop the 90hz refresh rate, but you get a Full HD+ resolution in return. The rear camera is a 48-megapixel snapper, while charging is vastly improved with support for 33w wired charging.
Even more interesting is the pricing of the V23 5G: the 8GB/256GB variant sells for CNY 1699(~Php 14k), while the 12GB/256GB variant sells for CNY 1899(~Php 15.7k). That makes the V23 5G the most affordable phone to date to have 12GB of RAM–though the catch is that it’s only available in China.
