Spearheaded by the University of the Philippines – Los Baños’ very own Civil engineering Executive Organization (CEO), the much-anticipated engineering event of the year – Engineering Congress is now back!

Entangled with the theme, “Forging Alternatives: Breakthroughs of Sustainable Engineering amidst Contemporary Socio-economic Challenges”, this congress and the organization aim to continuously strive to unite different individuals and interconnect their knowledge and ideas in the engineering field.

The Executives’ Challenge: CAD Edition, now in its second year online, encourages various universities and colleges to create their original structural models based on the notion of developing engineering designs that could boost awareness on sustainability and environmental preservation. The challenge features a PHP 25,000 grand prize, a PHP 10,000 first-runner-up reward, and a PHP 5,000 second-runner-up reward. The grand champions, along with the top ten teams, will obtain e-certificates on the event day, as well as the posting of their proposals on the Engineering Congress Official Facebook page.

A portion of the revenue from the event will be contributed directly to CEO’s yearly outreach program, “Livelihood Initiative for Everyone (LIFE) Project,” in marking the organization’s 21st anniversary. Through this initiative, CEO looks forward to giving back and catering to the needs of the community as the country continues to face the hardships brought by the pandemic.
