PAGASA Says Habagat & Easterlies to Brings Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon or easterlies will bring rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Monday (July 4, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. The southwest monsoon or easterlies over some parts of the country.

PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of over Batanes and Cagayan, Eastern Samar, Leyte and Southern Leyte.

“Kasalukuyan, ‘yung habagat o southwest monsoon ay nakakaapekto doon lamang po sa kanlurang bahagi ng Northern Luzon,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

The rest of Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

“Sa Visayas at Mindanao, maulap ang kalangitan na may mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm sa Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Leyte, kasama na rin ang Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Sur, at Surigao del Norte,” Aurelio added.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and western sections of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
