Pia Wurtzbach Shares Why She Wore 4 Gowns During MUPH 2022 Coronation Night
PIA WURTZBACH – Here’s why Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach wore four statement-making gowns during the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 coronation night.
Aside from the gorgeous Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2022 candidates, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach amazed the crowd with her stunning gowns during the coronation night. She hosted the pageant alongside fellow titleholders Demi-Leigh Tebow and Iris Mittenaere.
On her IG post, the 32-year-old beauty queen showed the four gowns she wore during the star-studded coronation night. In the caption, she explained that each of these was a tribute to Filipina Miss Universe queens – Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Catriona Gray, and Pia herself.

Manila Girl on the Moon
Pia Wurtzbach first walked the stage in a white modern Filipiniana made by Filipino fashion designer Mark Bumgarner. The white gown with a high slit is a tribute to the first-ever Pinay beauty queen to win the Miss Universe crown, Miss Gloria Diaz.
“Today, this look is a message for every woman to be unafraid to reach for the moon and say yes to her dreams & new adventures,” she wrote.

In Full Bloom
Pia Wurtzbach then changed to a yellow dress by Jaggy Glarino, which takes cues from Margie Moran’s iconic gown when she was crowned Miss Universe back in 1973. She said in her IG post, “In a hue that’s brighter than the sun, we’re reinventing what pageant swimsuit shots could look like with this offbeat one piece number that unapologetically highlights a woman’s curves.”
My Crowning Glory
For her third look, Wurtzbach wore a cutout gown in her signature color of blue. The beautiful gown created by Louis Pangilinan is a homage to the crown she won in 2015. It came with a caption, “We’re taking wearing the crown to the next level – not just on top of our heads, but as an embodiment of how every woman should be celebrated whatever size, shape, or age she is.”
Girl on Fire
Capping off her hosting stint, Wurtzbach donned a red gown by Gladi Echavarre and Arsuko Kuko. The dress was inspired by Catriona Gray’s winning color in the Miss Universe 2018.
