Marjorie Taylor Greene (born May 27, 1974) is an American politician, businesswoman, and far-right conspiracy theorist who has served as the U.S. representative for Georgia's 14th congressional district since 2021. A member of the Republican Party and a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, she was elected to Congress in 2020 following the retirement of Republican incumbent Tom Graves.
Currently, she is running for re-election after being removed from all committee roles by the House of Representatives following a vote, which took place back on February 4, 2021. Her removal was in response to her incendiary statements and endorsements of political violence, which was backed by 11 Republicans, along with the unanimous Democrats. After getting embarrassed for the GOP, Greene is again trolled for heckling President Joe when he mentioned his son Beau.
Recently, Greene has been receiving a lot of flak for her controversial actions and comments on various issues, for example, this past weekend Greene appeared as a guest speaker at a conference organized by, and for, Neo-Nazi white supremacists. The attendees at the conference praised Putin and Hitler and called the U.S Capitol attack on January 6, a ‘heroic act’.
When asked to comment on her appearance at this conference, initially Greene dodged any questions and simply said that it was due to the large following of the organizer that she decided to speak at the conference, but recently she has been more upfront on the matter and admitted that she is not at all sorry for her actions and claimed all the backlash that she received was down to the Democrats.
Greene was also present at the State of the Union address yesterday, where she teamed up with fellow Republican Lauren Boebert to heckle President Joe Biden during his address. There were 2 notable events that everybody vividly remembers, the first came when Biden was talking about the flag-draped coffins of the fallen service members, during the address, Boebert shouted,” You put them in there, all 13 of them!” The remark was met by boos and groans along with a pause from Biden for a moment, who then carried on with his speech.
The second came when Biden was talking about the US-Mexico border, it was at this moment that both Boebert and Greene yelled out, ‘build the wall!’, in reference to former President Donald Trump's emphasis on building a wall on the border.
