Eleanor Negri Lamb of Morgantown who started working in college athletics for an astounding 55 years, from 1958 to 2013. She was born in Morgantown on October 10, 1921. she was a bright student who had dreams of being someone. She went to West Virginia University in 1943, where she studied journalism. Lamb was a high achiever who began her career in radio at WAJR in Morgantown before moving on to WPDX in Clarksburg as Chairman of Consistency.

“Then, when I became athletic director, her office was right next to mine, which was always reassuring because I valued her opinion and trusted her judgement.” Eleanor was a wonderful lady, a wonderful friend to both me and Mona, and we extend our condolences to her family.”
She was predeceased by her sister, Connie Negri, and her parents, Bartolo and Edelina Alfieri Negri. Eleanor’s son, C.P. Negri, and grandson, Kazuki Negri, survive her.
